New Principal Hired

A new principal has been hired. Link

Normally proud as punch to announce stakeholder input; the news release does not mention the involvement of a single stakeholder.

The candidate seems qualified, but I have to wonder if the
obligation to meaningfully involve stakeholders in decisions
that affect their interests has been forgotten again;
"oops. our bad"

Winston Brooks said he was going to end site based management.

If anyone knows any different, please let me know.

Well, the good thing about not involving stakeholders - some stakeholders have poor judgement - and this way when parents complain about who THEY hired they can't throw back in our (stakeholders) faces ... "you picked him/her"
Now we, stakeholders, can say, "why the heck did YOU pick this one?"

There is a line between involving stakeholders and allowing a relative few stakeholders manipulate the process.

There is no way around offering professional facilitation to stakeholders groups.

It is an essential tool of site based management. If it does not exist, it is because the stakeholders are remarkably skilled in an uncommon skill set;

or someone owns a disproportionate share of the decision making power.
