You can't run every story forever.
Three days seems to be about the max.
I will never forget the reporter who ended his newscast
every night with the number of days that Americans
were still being held hostage in Iran.
Just so people would not forget about them altogether.
It is based, I suppose, on the length of time that
the average person will stay upset about something.
After awhile, they say to themselves, who cares, forget about it.
There was a time when a lot people were upset about what
happened at Rio Grande High School, and at Ernie Pyle,
and at every other place in the APS where stakeholders
were left out of decision making that affected their interests.
They haven't forgotten about it; it still eats at them,
they just aren't that pissed off anymore.
Not enough anyway, to get in their cars,
go to a board meeting, to do anything about it.
The School Board just postponed the public forum five days,
without justification.
More than enough time for stakeholders to "cool off".

The RGHS community (mainly parents) don't know what to do. They try writing and calling Winston Brookes, and from what I hear, get no response. He won't even go to their meetings, he sends Assoc Supe Eddie Soto to answer everythig about RGHS/ Linda Torres. So is high-paid Armenta on break then?
He sends Eddie because those that knew Eddie in the past love him, and he's bilingual, Hispanic, and known as a great teacher in the past. Unfortunately, he's been recently made into Winston's toad more or less.
Eddie has to carry out Winston's orders, not agree with him. So, he's stuck between a rock and a Winston (same thing I believe). Winston will put his Latino spokeperson pout there hoping they won't attack a fellow hispano. Unfortunately, Eddie will end up with the crap end of the stick... but he chose that job, unethical bosses and all.....
If Winston Brooks won't go to their meetings they need to go to his!
All they have to do, is go by carloads to the board meeting.
Sign up for the public forum.
Walk up to the microphone, individually or all together, and ask Winston Brooks why they should believe him when he says it won't happen again, and again, and again.
Ask him why he is not accountable to a standard of conduct that requires him to treat stakeholders with respect;
a standard like the student standard of conduct; the Pillar of Respect.
