"Ethics reform" means burning the bridge

Santa Fe Legislators would have us believe that ethics reform
is like rolling a boulder up a hill.

It is not.

It is about burning the bridge to the place
where you can except yourself from honest accountability.

Across the river lies honest accountability
to meaningful standards of conduct and competence.

Ethics reform is crossing the bridge and burning it.

Anything else,
anything else at all,

is the corrupt and the incompetent keeping the backdoor open
just in case.
