Marty Chavez wants to get all hot and heavy on gangs. More power to him.
But it wasn't that long ago that he was withholding money for after school programs.
His plan to fight the effects of unsupervised childhoods by arresting gang members; means we will be arresting gang members forever.
The way to end gangs is to deprive them of recruits.
The way to deprive them of recruits is to give the potential recruits a more attractive choice.
Like all the after school programs we can possibly muster.
