Despite what seems to be an obligation to enforce the NMIPRA; Bernalillo County District Attorney Kari Brandenburg declines.
The law says;
XI. SECTION 14-2-12. ENFORCEMENT
A. An action to enforce the Inspection of Public Records Act may be brought by:
(1) the attorney general or the district attorney in the county of jurisdiction; or
(2) a person whose written request has been denied.
District Attorney Brandenburg says:
"It is my understanding the Attorney General's Office handles these matters. Elizabeth Glen is specifically assigned to deal with complaints. I think she can be reached at 1-505-827-6000. If she is no longer working there, or is at a different number, they will be able to advise you."
Thanks,
Kari
and thank you, Ms. District Attorney, for your help in the effort to get Bernalillo County Sheriff Darren White to obey the law.
