according to the Journal; by the leadership of the APS; for their part in the Federal Interstate Identification Index background checks. It is my understanding that their actions were illegal; that the misconduct is criminal.
Yet Everitt, Maes, and Modral, took it upon themselves to resolve the case "administratively". They have not surrendered the evidence of alleged felony criminal misconduct, to the District Attorney.
The determination of criminal misconduct is the purview of law enforcement;
not of Elizabeth Everitt, not of Paula Maes,
and not of Modral.
Who is going to hold them accountable for this?

Now this is a twist! The poor guy whose wife the boss is going to La Quinta with is getting messed over for running a check (or more likely just picking up the paperwork for some mysterious unknown federal felon) on Tom's now wife.
This is really complex and makes me sick to think this is all going on when these people are supposed to be updating emergency plans and providing security coverage at football games or making sure dispatch runs smooth and such.
West seems like a nice guy, maybe they made the right decision not to discipline him, but it is ultimately up to others on who gets prosecuted for the Interstate Identification Index Misuse, if any one at all.
