should you care to respond or rebut

It is the subject line that heads the link to most everything that I write about someone.

When I write about District Attorney Kari Brandenburg's apparent complicity in the cover up of the public corruption and criminal conspiracy in the APS Police Department; I usually cc'd her.

Not so much lately; since she never really responded.

Same with Darren White, Bernalillo County Sheriff,
and candidate for the Congress of the United States.

Except that he will not offer a candid, forthright and honest account of his involvement and responsibility in APS Peanut Butter Gate and the subsequent cover up.

Nor Mayor Marty Chavez, when I remind readers that he bitches about APS' lack of accountability; but he won't stand up for a full scale forensic audit of the entire leadership of the APS.

I think it is because he would not survive the same audit of city government, and he knows it.

I often copy media moguls; Michelle Donaldson, Mary Lynn Roper, Rhonda Aubrey, Kent Walz and Thomas J Lang

when I rip them for their obvious cover up of the crap going on in the APS.

I copied Larry Barker when I ripped him for reporting on APS Fire Safety Inspection Scandal, without revealing the name of the APS administrator who decided to save money by thwarting fire safety inspections of schools.

I copied United States Senator Pete Domenici
when I first began exposing the Character Counts Scandal
in the leadership of the APS; the grant made under his name, and the group of upstanding citizens in the Character Counts Leadership Council,
who's names must remain secret.

They all have an opportunity to offer a candid, forthright and honest alternate explanation of the circumstances which appear to be widespread and deeply rooted incompetence and corruption.

They just choose not to.

Winston Brooks has had the opportunity to respond or rebut
he just chooses not to.

They just stonewall; the only defense of an indefensible position.

Stonewalling; a violation of the student standard of conduct;
the standard of conduct to which students are accountable;
but their most senior role models are are not.

In order that they can stonewall

... without consequence.

And you are to just trust them with that.

But why?

Domenici is Italian.. he'd be a choice role for ABQ's Godfather.
Seriously, I wonder about those connections....
Shotty record keeping and $$ coming in and going out (like a fake roofing company, or charactor counts program, etc..) is a great way to launder money.
The possibilities are endless...

I used to get tricked by the phrase "need to know" as well as "ongoing investigation". Sometimes, the powers that be (the lawyers that be usually) are really trying to keep the integrity of a criminal case by not revealing things before they finish trussing a person up, so they don't run or the investigation is not otherwise compromised.

And sometimes? They just tell you that to get you off their back, so they can say they TRIED to get enough probable cause, but shucks, it just didn't work out, and now the time limits for prosecution are OVER, aw darn! Go away now, kid, you bother me..

Stalling so that the powerful who paid them off or scared them off can skate away from Justice. Hey, no one wants to get their ass kicked or raped or killed by mob enforcers, but at some point a stand has to be made. DAs are supposed to be the head LAW ENFORCEMENT - they should not take or pursue the job if they are scared of criminals.

And I am not even so sure that the motivation is anything so sinister as mob involvement and intimidation, although it is entirely plausible, I think we are just dealing with petty greed and sociopath administrators with no real checks and balances who see that the APS system is ripe for graft.

I would be dead already if the mob thought I was a threat to them, I am no one. Sure I would take one or two low level thugs with me, if I got the drop on them I might even cuff the last one without any bullet holes in him so the cops could have someone to prosecute, but a sniper takes away anyone's martial arts prowess and handgun skills pretty quickly.

It takes dead bodies of citizens and cops to mobilize the DA, APD or BCSD into any kind of formidible force, otherwise they are all the same - just take the calls the bosses ASSIGN, no real intelligence gathering or going after the big crooks unless you are TOLD to.

Until we get a force of cops and DAs that has true intelligence gathering and financial vetting capabilites, all they are good for is responding to wrecks and bank robberies, that kind of thing. APD needs a "major case" unit or some similar well resourced and TOUGH/SMART unit to take on the local mob. We need cops with high IQs to outsmart criminal street gangs with big city experience and DAs with enough brawn to not be intimidated by thugs, legal or street type.

Across the country DAs and Government attorneys have "turned the other way". They protect their bosses (forgetting that their "bosses" are us- joe citizen), and they'd rather have some high-rofile cases to build their careers and rep, rather than taking care of daily business.
When all is said and done, I think Brandenberg is in over her head. I think she was given a position she never was competent to handle. I also thinks she doesn't want to "create big vibes" in ABQ.
AKA-she deosn;t want to do her job. I wish she'd get a concious and just ship off and bake cookies somewhere.
