Darren White's latest TV ad proclaims that Darren White
resigned "when" Governor Gary Johnson proposed the
decriminalization of certain recreational drugs.
The word "when" can mean two things in this context;
if the meaning is "at the same time as", then Darren White
is telling the truth; his resignation was co-incidental with
Governor Johnson's public stance; they happened at the
same time.
The alternate meaning of the word "when" implies that
Darren White resigned "as a consequence of" Governor
Johnson's position.
However Darren White felt about Governor Johnson,
he had also just received an overwhelming vote of
no confidence by his subordinates in the NM State Police.
Darren White resigned, or should have resigned, because
he had lost faith with subordinates.
Darren White is ignoring the question of another vote of
confidence by his current subordinates in the BCSO.
If Darren White could actually pass a vote of confidence,
it would be a useful tool for his campaign.
But he can't, so he won't.
He won't even talk about votes of confidence.
Except in terms that are calculated to create false impressions
in voters.
