In the Journal this morning, and on various blogs, Governor Richardson is finally admitting there will be "revenue enhancements" enacted during the upcoming legislative session.
I am bugged because everyone else has known, admitted, and pointed to, this inevitability all along.
Which means either,
- Richardson truly cannot figure out how spending, revenue, and budget balancing work, or
- he was being deliberately misleading in offering previous assurances that taxes would not be raised.
Neither works for me, nor for the citizens of New Mexico.
