Is it fair to say, hypocrite?

hypocrite;

  1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
  2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, esp. one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.
There are a number bloggers and blog commenters who have
expressed outrage over the "mud slinging" by Jim Scarantino.

Marty Chavez threw much more mud, and far slimier mud,
than Scarantino.

It occurs to me that if a person were truly outraged about the
idea of mudslinging, if this were truly about mudslinging and
not about some other hidden agenda, their outrage would have
been expressed when Marty Chavez was running blatantly
dishonest ads.

So is there anyone now expressing their outrage, who can point
to a post or comment of their own, wherein they expressed any
outrage at all over Marty Chavez?

If there is anyone, let's give them credit for truly balanced
coverage.

If this is the first expression of their outrage, how balanced is
their coverage?

Aren't they just a bunch of hypocrites?
