Paula Maes announced the end of an ongoing conflict of interest.

At the Board Meeting Wednesday,
Paula Maes
went out of her way
to call on me personally, to announce
that her husband is no longer the
President of the Modrall law firm,
a local firm that does millions of dollars
worth of business with the APS.

She said that, I can no longer write
about her conflict of interest.

Perhaps I can no longer write about an ongoing conflict,
but I will continue to write about the fact that the truth
about that conflict of interest, is still being kept secret
from stakeholders.

At least some of what they do for the district is to litigate
against the public interests, in order to except administrators
and board members from accountability to the law.

In my personal experience, they have bought immunity
for felony criminal misconduct, for a senior APS administrator,
then Director of Risk Management, Richard Cangiolosi.

The historical record of APS Modrall litigation is still secret,
even in violation of the Inspection of Public Records Act,
and is still worthy of a post or two.

She is still calling the shots as is her husband, no matter what she says. She has NEVER walked the walk, unlike you! Hats off to you, you have a way of getting under their skin that I quite admire!

I doubt she finally grew a conscience. Maybe someone threatened legal action against her? Hope so.

i would guess that her husband still has an ownership interest in the Modrall Law firm, and therefore will still benefit from money made by APS lawsuits. The fact that he's not "president" anymore is virtually irrelevant.

What a mug shot! All it's missing is a black hat and a broom!
