it was Delores Griego who asked;

"How can we instill values, reinstill respect?"

She was developing her point that, solving the problem of the armed defense of our schools should not distract us from addressing at least part of the problem at its roots. We should not be producing so many children who need policing.

Her point is that, if children had (appropriate) values and respected others; the need to police and defend them would be diminished.

"How can we instill values, reinstill respect?"

The solution is simple; you model your values and you model respect.

Delores Griego, you are a member of a leadership team of board members and administrators who have abdicated their obligations as student role models. You will not explain, defend, or even acknowledge the fact that you refuse to be held honestly accountable to the student standard of conduct;

...not as a public servant, not as a steward of the public trust and treasure, and not even as a senior role models for 89,000 of our sons and daughters.

"How can we instill values, reinstill respect?

You can reinstill values and respect by being the board member who publicly endorses returning the following language to the employee code of conduct;

In no case shall the standard for an adult be lower than the standard for a child.
The question never was so much, how to reinstill values and respect; as the question has always been; do we want to reinstill values and respect at the cost of role modeling personal accountability to a meaningful standard of conduct?

Every generation expects the next generation to be the first generation to hold itself honestly accountable to a meaningful standard of conduct. No generation has required from itself, honest accountability to a higher standard of conduct.

The question is; do you have the moral courage and commitment to model honest accountability to a meaningful standard of conduct?

No one else will answer that question on the record;
not Bill Richardson, nor Marty Chavez. Not one member of the APS board of education,
not Gordy Rowe; not even Marty Esquivel.
Not one APS senior administrator, not Beth Everitt,
not Tom Savage, not Susie Peck, and not Nelinda Venegas.

If you answer this question on the record; you will be the first.
Within your public service, will you hold yourself honestly accountable to a meaningful standard of conduct, by a system overwhich you have no control, and even against your will; (for eight measly hours a day)?

Any answer except yes is no.

"How can we instill values, reinstill respect?"

...by walking the walk.

APS Boardmember Griego, are you just talking the talk;
or will you be walking the walk?
