the next public forum

The constitutional right to petition one's government
will be exercised by irate parents and community members who are expected to make an appearance at the board meeting Wednesday late afternoon.

The leadership of the APS has discouraged their attendance by continuing to schedule board meetings at a time and place inconvenient to most working parents and community members.

For those who attend the meeting, the only venue for their input will be the public forum.

Arbitrary limitations will be placed on the number of speakers who will be allowed to excercise their constitutional right at the forum. Perhaps, Joseph Escobedo will be asked to return, to discourage people from signing up.

Those who speak, will not be part of the videotaped record of the board meeting that will be broadcast to the community. The community at large will not see any part of the public forum.

Children often attend board meetings. Most don't understand what they are watching. They don't fully understand that the eight men at women at the dais are not accountable to the same standard of conduct as they are. They don't know the most senior rolemodels in the APS have renounced accountability to the very standard that they are obligated to model and promote.

That circumstance is not inconsequential.

It is only because they are not accountable to the student standard of conduct that;

they can conduct board meetings at inconvenient times and places
falsify videotape records of board meetings
and move the public forum off the videotaped record
It is only because they are not accountable to the student standard of conduct that;
they can hide the public record of resources that were squandered in their renovation of the uptown complex.
It is only because they are not accountable to the student standard of conduct that;
they can hide the public records of public corruption and criminal conspiracy in the leadership of the APSPD; and by logical extension; in the entire leadership of the APS.
It is only because they are not accountable to the student standard of conduct that;
they can violate the requirements of the public records act.

It is only because they are not accountable to the student standard of conduct that;
they can change a grade over the objection of a teacher.

It is only because they are not accountable to the student standard of conduct that;
they can move principals in and out of schools at will; with complete disregard for the rights of stakeholders.

If the leadership of the APS were accountable to the standard of conduct that they are obligated to model and promote; all of this behavior would be unacceptable; absolutely, unequivocally unacceptable.

that is why the had to remove the following language from their own standard of conduct;
in no case shall the standard of conduct for an adult be lower than the standard of conduct for students.

For those looking for a sign that they have lost control over power and resources that are their own; and for a sign that the leadership of the APS cannot be held accountable for the conduct or their competence; or for a sign that the interests of stakeholders, the public interests, are of absolutely no consequence;

...here's your sign.
