a state legislature that will not hold itself accountable to a higher standard of conduct; or the aps administration, board and modral, which will not hold themselves accountable to any standard of conduct at all?
the question is not entirely academic. the journal has treated us to another editorial on the missing pieces of the ethics reform package that passed through the legislature; and still will not even mention the missing pieces in the aps ethics package. one would infer that they find the one important, and the other unimportant.
since the aps' abandonment of their ethical standard of conduct is at least as important to the community as the legislature's, there must be another reason that the journal, and the trib, are covering up the aps ethics scandal.
which is worse, the journal or the trib? both have betrayed the public's trust completely; so I guess it is a tie.
