Gary King’s answer falls short.

I have received a response from the New Mexico Attorney General, Gary King. While I will argue that the response falls short; I could not be more pleased that he has the courage to respond and on the record.

Ched,
I have forwarded your OMA/IPRA complaint to the specialists in my office. We have developed a standard operating procedure that I believe will speed our response to such complaints. Our office endeavors to investigate each complaint quickly and thoroughly. It helps if complaints can be specific as to the times and dates when violations occur. If you have any information regarding the violations you have mentioned, please forward them to the AG office, care of the OMA/IPRA unit. This will assist the investigation.

Fair enough, who am I to jump to the front of the line; ask for special treatment, ignore procedures that are already in place, …

Attorney General King’s response is entirely appropriate. The fact that he responded on the record is courageous.

The response falls short only because it has no effect.

Sir,

Will you attach your name and gravitas to a request for information from the leadership of the Albuquerque Public Schools? Will you demand from them an "ethical" response; giving legal weaselry no air?

Will you demand from them an explanation for their refusal to surrender public records to public knowledge; specifically with respect to the investigation of public corruption in the administration of the APS Police Department?

Will you ask them to justify ethically and legally;removing the public forum from the public record of board meetings?

Will you defend the right of taxpayers to know the truth about the public administration of their trust and treasure?

I am asked to provide specifics: example, dates times.

for example; today; now; the leadership of the APS refuses to surrender the public record surrounding their praetorian guard commander's alleged public corruption. They respond to requests for records by feigning incompetence. Feigning even abject incompetence cannot mitigate prima facie evidence of their absolute intention to obfuscate compliance with the law.

The refusal to surrender Gil Lovato's public records is proof that a decision has been made.

The lawyers of Modral will be paid to defeat the NMIPRA on the issue of Lovato's records.

Will you ask for public records of the spending of public resources on the Lawyers of Modral; litigating against public records requests?

Taxpayer support of education will pay Modral/Maes lawyers for their efforts to defeat the NMIPRA; and to continue to suppress public knowledge of public records of public corruption and criminal conspiracy in the administration of public resources in the APS Police Department and in general.

Will you ask them to explain that as well?

And finally; will you ask them for the names of the APS leadership who broke the law by doing illegal background checks on BCSO computers?
And will you prosecute them? ...since nobody else will?

with respect and gratitude for your continued time and attention.
