"incredibly"; everitt's excuse

for not bringing any kind of closure based on the results of investigations into the public corruption scandal in her police department, is;

"I have not sat down and read it." She also offered, "As soon as the information is brought to me in a total package and I have a chance to read it, I'll take whatever actions I need to take."

Unless one is mind numbingly gullible; Everitt's explanations are incredible.

(not credible; hard to believe; unbelievable, so extraordinary as to seem impossible, far fetched, astonishing, preposterous, so implausible as to elicit disbelief, cannot be believed.)
According to the same article in the Journal, Tom Savage explained that although the APS police department has experienced significant staff shortages for as long as a year; "...we're not missing a beat..." That particular sentiment was not shared by a representative of the police officers union.

Savage also offered that the impending review will
"help us explore some ... ideas."

Savage either did not offer, or was not asked, why a year old problem has not been explored already, nor why despite his handsome salary, he makes over $500.oo a day, he needs outside help to explore issues over which he has direct responsibility, and upon which he should reasonably be conversant already.

The journal article did not mention that according to Gil Lovato's lawyer, Sam Bregman, Savage personally approved two of Lovato's questionable expenditures; the installation of a video camera at the home of an attractive female police department employee, and the assignment of a aps vehicle for her while she worked under Gil Lovato. KRQE reported that he was making weekly visits, during work hours, to a local motel. (this according to a KRQE news report.)

Apparently, Everitt and Savage believe that the Journal, and most of the citizens of Albuquerque, are incredibly gullible.
easily duped or cheated, naive, innocent, simple, green.
Apparently, they are right.
