Jessica Garate and KRQE break from the pack

I have long argued that the failure of the local media, print and broadcast, to investigate and report upon substantial and important problems in the APS has to do with a conspiratorial relationship between the leadership of the APS and the media.

I am prepared to amend my position. KRQE TV, in the person of Jessica Garate, has produced a fair number of accurate and hard hitting reports on critical issues in the APS; most recently with concern to the apparent corruption in the administration of the APS Police Department.

While I am still concerned that the leadership of the APS exerts an unhealthy influence on the media; apparently a courageous reporter still has some autonomy.
