Tacit approval of the culture of corruption

By any reasonable measure, there is a culture of corruption
in New Mexico State Government.

Who should we hold accountable?

There are a number of names that will come up as a result
of a number of investigations that are currently underway.

But what about every lawmaker whose name does not come
up as an overt participant in the corruption? Are they clean?

I would argue that they are not. In the absence of a record of
pointing to corruption and an overt effort to end it, they are
complicit.

I would suggest a dividing line; every law maker who stands
against the culture of corruption, will do everything humanly
possible to create transparency, and transparent
accountability
to meaningful standards of conduct and
competence in state government.

All of the rest join the enablers, those who sit around doing
nothing beyond not joining personally in the corruption.

And that just isn't enough.

It's time for legislators to cowboy up, and take on those who
would have state government function to meet their selfish
interests.

"If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem."

Any legislator who is not fighting against the culture of
corruption, overtly, publicly, actively, aggressively, ...

is, the problem.
