Legislators Weigh Independent Audit

In a Journal article under that headline, link,
we read that;

"New Mexico legislators are considering
an independent audit of the state's pension and
endowment funds because of questions ..."
legitimate questions, as yet, unanswered.

" "Let's make sure that we're doing things above board
and we're not playing any games with the people's money,"
Senate President Pro Tem Tim Jennings"

There is only one way to tell the truth, and that is as best it can be done.

There is only one way to make state government transparently accountable to the people, and that is; as best it can be done.

Why are there not independent audits of all government spending?

Why do individual citizens have to fight for an independent audit of the spending of our power and our resources?

There is nothing less than
inescapable accountability to unequivocal standards
of conduct and competence within public service,
that is acceptable.

There is only one way to do transparent accountability to meaningful standards of conduct and competence, and that is; as best it can be done.

Senate President Pro Tem Tim Jennings is off to a good start. But it is only a start.

Will Senate President Pro Tem Tim Jennings be the first legislator to call for honest accountability to meaningful standards of conduct and competence for public servants?

Or will he be
among the last?
