Proving pay to play.

Somewhere, there exists a list of all of the people who have done business with Bill Richardson's government, and with Marty Chavez' city hall.

Technologically it would be a very simple thing to survey every one of those people and ask them if they felt any pressure to pay to play.

Is that something we can expect from our government, or
is it something that we must press upon our government?

Why are you so negative with State and Albuquerque government? Is it because both Richardson and Chavez are Democrats? Is it because both are Hispanic?

I write about Albuquerque and New Mexico because that is where I live.

It really has nothing to do with democrat or republican, as I have pointed out on a number of occasions.

To suggest the I am racist is completely uncalled for and, you should be ashamed to have suggested it.

Any government that does not have honest accountability to meaningful standards of conduct and competence, is riddled with corruption and incompetence because; it is human nature, the Peter Principle is real, and good ol' boy oligarchies are real.

Mostly because human beings are weak and if you give them the opportunity to steal a lot of money without getting caught, they will.

You may trust human nature, clearly I do not.

If the interest is in ending corruption and incompetence in government, "trust" runs a far distant second in effectiveness than "standards and accountability".

Thanks for dropping by.

I understand the reader's anger if he's new to this blog. He hasn't read the proofs, heard the various issues you have brought up over the years, hasn't heard the testimonies that your readers have produced.
It's easy to log on to this blog and not believe that all this "sickness" is right at our doors. It makes us feel like fools that we haven't been aware all this time. Ched and the blogger responders have helped us become aware of the various intolerable situations.
Ched is not unique in this. In Florida, there are also radio shows that run a similar format and expose corruption, thieving and gross neglect on behalf of school officials and elected local leaders. I'm sure there are many of these in other parts of the USA.
However, to make a jump and simply label someone a racist because you don't agree is a lazy way to an illogical counterpoint, and it makes that speaker look the fool. If that blogg responder would have scanned other posts, he would have found Ched to equally scrutinize democrats and republicans alike. I suspect Ched is a Republican (I think he stated that before?). but in his writings, he seems impartial 99% of the time (no one is perfect).
Ched does a service for his community, for the state, and indirectly, the country is better for his years of tireless dedication to speak the truth as he finds it.
Before we jump someone that says or writes uncomfortable things, maybe we need to look inside ourselves first to find out why those things bother us so much, before jumping the speaker/writer.

The verbosity of the 3rd poster leads me to think ole Ched is defending himself. The post has a Ched ring. And I am the 1st post here

You would be wrong.

He/she is wrong. I wrote that. I can't put my name on it because APS would retaliate.
Strike a reasonable deal. Dialog w/ Ched some through email. You'll find he's not a bad guy.
I get that you feel there's some kind of political conspiracy here and perhaps you feel there's some kind of "agenda" being promoted.
I am an independent, I am part hispanic, I have a Master's degree...so before anyone feels like I'm just kissing Ched's butt, I'm not. Ched and I don't agree on everything, but we are gentlemen about it, and for the most part, I find him to be very correct in what he asserts.
We have talked through emails and he's always had reasonable, great suggestions for how to handle certain problems in the school system.
HE writes passionately, but in "real life". he's very reasonable.
If you still want to assert that ched is I, and I am Ched, that's ok. I've come to admire this guy's dedication to transperancy in government..so maybe I took a few pages from his book and now I sound like him.
I take that as a compliment!
