June is APS Stakeholder Awareness Month.
I was prepared to begin the month by pointing out to stakeholders, that Winston Brooks made a commitment to visit Albuquerque many times before beginning his Superintendency formally on July 1,
and has reneged on that commitment.
Lo and behold; the first reader comment in APS Stakeholder Awareness Month;
(On my honor, I had nothing to do with the comment)
"I predict Winston Brooks to be a do-nothing...Winston Brook's superintendency could not be starting on
neither good nor bad. W/o going into details,
I have noticed Monica Armenta going in his place
to functions where he was expected to be present,
and even functions where he obligated himself to
present or speak, then never showed up
(but Monica did)."
Winston would seem to be another in a long line of
APS puppets."
worse footing. There are more problems that you can shake
a stick at; serious, serious problems.
- The most senior role models in the District have simply abdicated as role models of the student standard of conduct. By their own deliberate decision, they are completely unaccountable as role models.
- The Meyners Audit revealed conclusively that, the APS Finance Division, trusted by taxpayers to administer a billion dollars a year, never codified financially sound policies and procedures, never followed those that they did have, and never kept records accurate or comprehensive enough to send even the worst criminals to jail.
- The results of the Finance Division Audit are indicative; the division is not a fluke.
There is no division in the entire leadership of the APS that publishes standards of conduct and competence for public servants in the division.
There is no division in the entire leadership of the APS that can point to accountability under any system that cannot be easily manipulated by confederates, or by the shysters of the Modrall.
- Two long time employees of the Finance Division, employees who should have blown the whistle long, long ago, and who did not; have been promoted to Director of Internal Audit, and Chief Financial Officer in appreciation.
- Although the Finance Division is by their own admission, short of competent auditors, an offer from the NM State Auditors Office, of the loan of state auditors to help, was refused. There is no credible explanation for the refusal, except to keep corruption and criminal negligence secret from authorities.
- There is district wide permission of prohibited behavior; both by students and adults alike.
- There are still public records being hidden from public knowledge, not in accordance with the law, the NMIPRA, but in defiance of the law.
- The entire APS Maes Modrall relationship is still secret from stakeholders. Modrall makes millions of dollars off taxpayers, and steadfastly refuses to open their books.
- Brad Winter, recently promoted, in spite of the fact that, he and others made a deliberate decision to build a fancy new boardroom instead of fireproofing classrooms.
- There is no one in the entire leadership of the APS who is willing to conduct a candid, forthright and honest discussion of any issue at all.
- Most importantly; again, most importantly, the leadership of the APS will not begin a forensic audit of the entire leadership of the APS in order to ferret out the corrupt and the incompetent who are wasting/stealing millions of tax dollars every year. An action with no downside, none at all, except for the corrupt and the incompetent who are the leadership of the APS.
And to hear Winston Brooks (not) tell it;
there is nothing about which he owes stakeholders
any explanation at all.
Winston Brooks was hired by the people who really run the APS, Paula Maes, Modrall, et al, as a "spokesmodel"; just like Monica Armenta, but at twice her annual salary.
Winston Brooks is a $250K a year lackey.
A liveried male servant; a footman; a servile follower;who cannot refute this allegation because it is true.
a toady; a person who tries to please someone in order
to gain a personal advantage;
To date, Winston Brooks has given stakeholders no indication at all, that he had the character and the courage to lead the leadership of the APS out of the incompetent and corrupt leadership currently offered by the good ol' boys who actually call the shots.
And APS Stakeholders, as of today,
have exactly thirty days to do something about it.
To their eternal shame; Thomas H Lang, Kent Walz,
Mary Lynn Roper, Michelle Donaldson, and KOB's
Mike Burgess, steadfastly refuse to offer any of the
truth to stakeholders, even in its smallest measure;
even in observance of APS Stakeholder Awareness Month.
