34 Schools Sent Fire Code WarningsCapt. Andrew Chavez, city fire marshal's office, is quoted
in the Journal saying;
"It is important that these violations get addressed
as quickly as possible.
We are dealing with life safety issues of our children."
According to APS' fountain of truth, Rigo Chavez, there are
problems, and cited as an example, two principals who
wondered in writing, how they were supposed to fix problems
when their schools were closed for summer break, and they
were off-contract. (emphasis added)
Since when are principals "off-contract" for the summer?
And are we really supposed to believe that no one can open
a school that is closed for summer break? give me a break!
Winter, who has not denied that he was integral in making
the decision to suspend the fire safety inspections to save
enough money for their new $1M John Milne Boardroom,
has proposed that the city do the inspections, and then be
"under reimbursed" by the APS, saving APS more money.
Apparently there are a few accouterments that are still
missing in the boardroom.
Marty Chavez, according to the Journal, says
Brad Winter, in his capacity as the City Council President,
has no business involving himself in a "mandate" affecting
his employer, the APS.
Which begs the question; who's going to stop him?
