All schools to get fire inspections

according to an article in the journal link sub req.

Missing from the article, is any explanation, defense, or even
acknowledgment by APS' recently promoted Brad Winter,

that he and others sat around a table (metaphorically speaking)
and decided to end fire safety inspections in public schools,
which saved the APS a bunch of money;

while at the same time spending a million dollars to build
a completely unnecessary new board room.

Misplaced priorities; no accountability.

Business as usual in the leadership of the APS.

Hre's the part of this morning's Albuquerque Journal article (top of p. C-1) that caught my eye: " "As long as we get inspected, we're OK with that," Winter said at a citizens advisory commission Tuesday."

What citizens advisory commission? Where and when?

I have to say, Michelle, I read the article and totally missed that.

Thanks for the head's up.

When I read saw "Citizens advisory commission", that was the thought that struck my even before I got to your question.

Wasn't is a Citizen's Advisory "Council" that Paula did away with; implying she would replace it with something better?

It turns out that it was a capital advisory committee.

So we are correct in our impression that there are no community input committees.

But if there's a capital advisory committee don't they have to comply with open meetings laws and keep records? Maybe we can learn something from them. Apparently the reporter was there.
