The Journal gives Winston Brooks a monthly opportunity
to spin the truth about the APS, without fear of contradiction;
certainly not in a column like the one they give Brooks, free,
and not even in the form of a controverting letter to the editor.
This morning, link, Brooks goes on and on about how the APS
wants to improve "communication" with stakeholders.
"... improvedAs a matter of fact "good communication" isn't just about
communication (is) our
third of eight district
goals toward better education.
We are listening,
and we want your
feedback and
suggestions.
You can contact me at
superintendent@aps.edu.
After all, isn't that was good communication is all about?
being able to ask questions, it is about getting answers to
those questions, answers that are candid forthright and honest.
I cannot begin to tell you how many times, and in how many
venues, that I have asked at least three questions that neither
Brooks nor any other member of the leadership will even
acknowledge much less answer;
- Why will you not step up to honest accountability as the senior administrative role model of the APS Student Standard of Conduct; the Pillars of Character Counts!?, and
- Why will you not defend your decision not to conduct an independent and impartial standards and accountability audit before the upcoming bond election, despite overwhelming evidence that that audit is necessary, and
- Why is evidence of felony criminal misconduct involving senior APS administrators in the scandal the APS Police Department, being suppressed even after statutes of limitation on criminal prosecution have long since expired?
The Journal got at least that one right, the lack of candor,
forthrightness, and simple honesty from the APS, comes
From the Top.

Ask the parents at Rio Grands High school about their attempts to have Winston Brooks "hear" them. He refused to show up to meetings w/ parents, refused to involve them, refused to hear their worries about implementing Linda Torres as principal.
Ask the Colorado police authorities how well Winston Brooks "listened" to them as they related the alleged abuses Linda Torres gave children there, and how he neglected parent's desire to consider that info and not allow her to be hired and in charge of their kids.
And let's not forget that Winston Brooks NEVER listened to teachers at Ernie Pyle Middle or Rio Grande High as he tore up their administration and forced new intense programs of instruction down their throats.
AKA...WINSTON BROOKES IS NOT A COMMUNICATOR AND HAS NO DESIRE TO BE! He simply wants to talk, judge and act.
