Villanucci and Chavez play hardball. Not!

Mayor Marty Chavez was on the Jim Villanucci Show yesterday.

Villanucci began by reporting that he had done hours of research on the Mayor in preparation for the interview. He reported finding a great deal of worthy accomplishment. The rest of the interview consisted of one slow-pitch softball question after another.

At one point, Villanucci gave Chavez the choice of three
controversial subjects to address.

I may have missed it, I was moving back and forth between
online and on air, which don't run simultaneously, but I
didn't hear Villanucci ask the Mayor a single question about
the culture of corruption and incompetence in City Hall.

Not one question about the Bode tapes, the landscaping audit and the apparent corruption and/or incompetence in Chavez' Department of Municipal Development, a Balloon Museum that cost taxpayers $1,000 per square foot, cost overruns on the Airport Observation Deck, corruption and incompetence in the leadership of the Albuquerque Police Department, etc, etc, etc.

He didn't even challenge Chavez on the blatantly, egregiously dishonest campaign commercials that Chavez is currently running on KKOB.

I am not suggesting that Villanucci is a Chavez lackey, but
if he was, things would not have gone better for Chavez.

I agree! But I dont think he was tough on Romero or Berry either. Bob this morning on 770 tried to make some harder hitting points on the mayors ads and his support of the trolley car, light rail (what ever the mayor is calling it this hour) Go Romero or Berry
