If you go into any courtroom, even over a ten dollar parking ticket, the first thing that happens is you have to promise to tell the truth.
Why is it that politicians and public servants don't have to promise to tell the truth about what they are doing with our power and our resources?
There are only two kinds of truth; the truth we have a right to know, and the truth we have no right to know.
Right now, those with the greatest need to hide the truth, are the ones who decide what truth gets told.
In fact, the truth would be better served by an impartial, transparent, and binding process.
If there is such a thing as a higher standard of conduct and competence in politics and public service, that standard includes telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Should politicians and public servants have to tell the truth?
