It is time for Governor Bill Richardson to step up.

Governor Bill Richardson is directly responsible for a certain amount of public spending. It is time for him to point to that spending and show the rest of the government what it looks like to trim the fat when trimming the fat hurts.

Richardson needs to publish the spending over which he is responsible; all of the jobs he has created for political cronies and hangers on. It is up to him to show how much he is spending and where, and what cuts he will make. Is there even one of his many hundreds of appointments who is going to feel the bite of the butchers knife?

It appears the Governor would like others to take the heat for the cuts. He will sit back while others do all the dirty work, and then go along begrudgingly saying, look what they made me do.

That's not leadership.
