NMPED report points to blatant corruption and/or incompetence in the leadership of the APS.

New Mexico Public Education
Secretary Veronica Garcia

signed off on an eleven page report,
link,

that concluded;

"1.The district failed to comply with federal regulations
providing for the prompt notice to parents of students of a school that has been identified for restructuring.

2.The district failed to comply with federal regulations requiring meaningful parental involvement in development of a restructuring plan."
There are two reasons to deny stakeholders a seat at the table
where decisions are made;
1. Incompetence, they simply did not know that stakeholders are entitled to a seat at the table where decisions are made, and that, that right was enforceable under the law. Or,

2. Corruption, they knew about the rights and the law, and made a deliberate decision to ignore both.
They get away with it because they are not actually accountable
to any standard of conduct that prohibits incompetence and
corruption.

Or am I missing something?

sidebar: the Journal is yet to report upon the more than week
old admonition. This would be consistent with what appears
to be an agreement between the paper and the leadership of
the APS, providing for "more positive" coverage of the APS
in anticipation of an upcoming $650M bond issue election.
