New Mexico will always be a "pay to play" state.

According to Michael Swickard, a regular contributor on
Heath Haussamen's site, link.

This morning he writes about the current deluge of pay for play
scandals and concludes;

"So there will be a big who-ha in the media about cleaning
up state government and then it will be back to things as
they were, where, as far as the people in Santa Fe see it,
if you do not donate to the right party and the right
people you may as well be living on the moon or in
southern New Mexico."

He is right of course, unless we stand up and demand an end
to the culture of corruption.
