When Mayoral candidate Richard Berry brought up the fact
that property crime in Albuquerque has gone up 9%; far more
than comparable cities, Pete Dinelli, pointed out that the
increase in property crime in Albuquerque is being driven by
the recession. He did not explain how the similar cities with
lower crime rates somehow escaped those same effects from
the recession. link
Now it turns out that Albuquerque isn't doing as bad as a lot
of other cities. FBIHOP has a report on a study done by the
Brookings Institution that found that Albuquerque is 15th
among "strongest performing metro areas". link
For those keeping score;
RJ Berry ............... 1
Chavez/Dinelli ..... 0
