Same old, same old, at the UNM.

No matter how you slice it, a vote of no confidence is of some
real significance. An overwhelming vote of no confidence, is
overwhelmingly significant.

Yet, if the Journal is to be believed, link,
the good ol' boy regents just gave the good ol' boy who recently
lost a vote of confidence overwhelmingly,
a good ol' slap on the back, and an atta boy!

He did after all "... resolve" to do something about the problems,
sometime, somehow.

Regent President and good ol' boy Raymond Sanchez said,

We don't give a rat's ass about the faculty vote of
no confidence.
Which is basically the same thing that Paul Krebs had to say
about it, link,
"... like water off a duck's back."
When asked why faculty stakeholders had no part in the
evaluation, Sanchez said,
"We did it the way we've always done it."
The upper crust does not submit to evaluation by members of
the great unwashed. It's just not the way they roll.

The faculty at the UNM do not have standing
in the eyes of the good ol' boys.

And just in case there was any confusion about it,
they came right out and told them so.

The UNM faculty have a simple choice;
  • continue to tolerate the arrogance, or

  • don't continue to tolerate the arrogance.
