It's too bad that mayoral candidates cannot be compelled to answer a question or two before the voting begins.

Think how much more capably we could cast our votes,
if only we knew the answer to the following questions;

To what standard of conduct will you be held
"honestly accountable? and, how?

Will you even hold yourself honestly accountable to the law,
the lowest standard of conduct acceptable to civilized people?
Will you, on your honor, renounce and reject the use of
technicalities, loopholes, and legal weaselry to except
yourself from accountability to the law?

Will you hold yourself honestly accountable to any higher
standard of conduct than the law? Which one? And, how?

How will you guarantee that a legitimate complaint filed against
you, by the least powerful stakeholder, will see due process?

If I were running for mayor, these questions and my answers
would be my homepage.

It's too bad that mayoral candidates cannot be compelled to
answer a question or two, before we have to entrust to them,
the control over our power and our resources.
