Laying down the gauntlet

The obscure phrase, dates apparently to medieval times;
the days of chivalry and combat, the days of character and courage.

Throwing down the gauntlet, a heavy glove,
was the method of choice for challenging another knight
to a duel.

Picking the gauntlet up was the signal that the challenge had been accepted.

Hollywood apparently added the part where they took turns
slapping each other in the face.

I am laying down the gauntlet for "the leadership" of the Albuquerque Public Schools.

I challenge every "leader" in the APS to a duel.

Consider yourself slapped in the face by the declaration;
There is not a single leader in the APS,
with character and courage enough,
to hold themselves honestly accountable
as a role model of the student standard of conduct.

There is an opportunity for the "leaders" in the APS to defend their honor by standing up on the record, as willing role models of the student standard of conduct.

There is a public forum at 5pm Wednesday, November 5,
Uptown Complex, 6400 Uptown Blvd.
