KRQE's Larry Barker went to a great deal of trouble, I am supposing, to put together his report on how Governor Bill Richardson has ignored the letter and the spirit of the hiring freeze in state government.
A few bloggers linked to his story; Terrel, link, Burgos, link, and finally, Gessing, link; none expressing any real outrage.
Three days later, the news cycle has come and gone long since, and if Richardson wanted to create yet another job for one of his cronies today, he could and would, and there's nothing anyone could do to stop him.
Apparently, we've not made much progress at all in curbing the abuse of power in Santa Fe.
