I am wondering if the issue of legislation on domestic partnerships might be better accomplished in a Special or Extraordinary Session.
We have enough to do; figuring out the budget and ethics reform.
We have more than enough to do.
I am not being unsympathetic to domestic partnership legislation. I think the level of the discourse, and the ultimately the quality of the final legislation, would be vastly improved if the issue is tabled at least until budget and ethics reform are complete.
There needn't be an extraordinary session; perhaps they could just stop wasting time with good ol' recognition and feckless memorials.
If for no other reason, the discussion should be tabled until it is being robustly recorded, broadcast, and properly archived.
Think about it, at least.

What about Winston Brooks' request for a crown and scepter?
Where does that fall in legislative priority?
