The Leadership of the APS Will Never Create a District Wide Discipline Philosophy

Philosophy is the foundation of policy. Policy that does not rest on a sound philosophical foundation is arbitrary and significantly harder to enforce.

A discipline philosophy cannot be created which does not have as a major tenet; you have to enforce the policies.

The administration is charged with enforcing discipline policies. There are those administrators who don't enforce discipline problems, because it causes turmoil.

They will not create a philosophy which requires them to do something they don't want to do.

Nor will they allow anyone else to create such a philosophy.

The lack of a discipline philosophy in a school system crippled by student discipline problems,
is philosophically indefensible.
