Greg Solano ends race for Lt Governor

Santa Fe County Sheriff Greg Solano was the first candidate to announce their intention to run for Lt Governor. In a post on his blog, link, Solano discusses at length, the reasons he decided to end the endeavor.

Solano was the first to put meaningful ethics reform on the table. It didn't help one bit. His opponents have nothing even remotely close on the table, and it hasn't hurt them one bit.

Solano concluded that the race has too little to do with issues, and too much to do with being a political insider with the accouterments (read; money) provided therefrom.

I can't say that I know Greg Solano well, but from what I do know, he is a decent and common man who would have brought a different perspective to the executive branch of government.

Our government is supposed to be of the people, by the people,
and for the people. It clearly is not, it is a government of power
and privilege.

And, that's a damn shame.
