We the people have unimaginable amounts of power and resources.
We were told a long time ago,
that the power and resources that are fundamentally our own,
could only be spent by first entrusting them to others;
others meaning, public servants.
And then when we ask them;
What are you doing with our power and resources?They say;
It's a secret.The Republican Party promises to be open and accessible to all Americans.
Yet when asked to codify that promise, to curtail the calling
of meetings that are held in secret from stakeholders,
the NMRP Central Committee voted to continue the status quo.
Had they not, it wouldn't have made a bit of difference.
The outgoing NMRP Chairman, Allen Weh,
stood up at a microphone, and told the committee;
If they made any rule against secret meetings,
the executive council would disobey it;
deliberately and with forethought.
And after that, another secret meeting was called.
I am told the the meeting was not secret, it was "closed".
I would argue that the meeting was "closed" precisely
to keep it "secret".
Secret from stakeholders.
The worst thing any public servant can do,
is anything they do in indefensible secret.
Who in their right mind,
would give over the control over their power and resources,
to people who think they can respond with "no comment"
to legitimate questions about how the power and resources
are being spent.
Secret meetings will not end as the result of secret decision making.
Secret meetings will end
when there are enough stakeholders standing at the door
demanding to be let in.
Or they will not end at all.
You pick a side, when you don't pick a side. unk
