There is a regular meeting of the APS BOE today at 5pm.

The public forum starts after they finish congratulating
themselves; usually around 5:30.
Among those being honored tonight, the senior administrator
most immediately responsible for the TIG scandal, link;
Dr. Tom Ryan, APS Chief Information Officer.
He will be receiving the Distinguished Service Award from
the Council of Great City Schools.
Unclear how an organization that has done a number of APS
administrative audits is giving an award to someone who
they really should be auditing instead of applauding.
If you want to speak at the forum, you have to sign in before
the meeting begins at 5pm.

do they schedule their meetings at 5pm knowing full well that most working parents (90% of the population) won't be able to make it?
I'm going to have to say yes.
Before they built their new million dollar board room, not only did they meeting later in the evening, but the meetings moved around the city by using high school lecture halls.
I hate the fact that I cannot edit comments and not leave errors like "meeting" instead of "meet" on the internet forever.
I believe they put it at that time to make it inaccessible to working parents.
they spent a million damn dollars on a meeting room that no one uses except for them!!??
wth?!
that money could have built a school instead of a stupid room!
