The Journal editors are much exercised over GOP phones and Richard Berry.

The editors are quite worked up that link;

"... current mayoral candidate Rep. Richard Berry is getting phone support from the state GOP."
The editors freely admit that he has broken no law.
"As a self-employed contractor Berry doesn't have to follow the Hatch Act, but he should be aware of the strings often attached to partisan support."
Don't get me wrong, I am all for holding public servants accountable to a higher standard of conduct than the law.

I curious why the editors can see the need for Richard Berry to step up to accountability to a higher standard of conduct than the law;

but cannot see the need for the leadership of the APS to stand up to honest accountability to a higher standard of conduct than the law; and

cannot see the need for the leadership of the APS to stand up to honest accountability as role models of the Student Standards of Conduct; a higher standard of conduct than the law.
