Iain Munro is the news director at KRQE. It is fair to assume
he has something to do with KRQE's failure to investigate
and report upon the ethics and accountability scandal in the
leadership of the APS.
He also sits on the NM Foundation for Open Government's
Board of Directors. He was on the board when it voted to
give Winston Brooks a Dixon Award for "transparency" at
the same time Brooks is violating the Inspection of Public
Records Act hiding the Caswell Report on public corruption and
incompetence in the APS Police Department.
My understanding is, KRQE has asked for the Caswell Report,
been denied, and has now dropped the issue. Marty Esquivel
used to be KRQE's lawyer and might still be. Which means
if he sued APS over the release of the Caswell Report, he
would be, in effect, suing himself as School Board President.
I report this as further evidence of the behind the scenes ties
between heavy hitters in the news and those who report the
news; the effect of which is, those who are supposed to be
reporting impartially on the public interests and upon the
public service of politicians and public servants, are failing
to do so.
