Joe Monahan reports this morning, link, that School Board Member David Robbins is working for Mayor Richard Berry as a "constituent services assistant".
Monahan points out that according to the City Charter; No employee shall participate in the following types of political activity: (B) Being a candidate for or holding any elective city office.
Perhaps Robbins will argue that being elected to the school board doesn't count as an elective "city" office. It would be loophole large enough for him to squeeze through. Perhaps it doesn't.
A better question is;
how can a man who cannot summon the character andAnd why would Berry hire as a constituent services assistant, someone with a record of evading legitimate questions about the public interests, in the first place?
the courage to answer legitimate questions about the
public interests and his public service in the APS,
function as a constituent servant?
Update; at 1:30 pm, Robbins emailed me that he has resigned from his position with the City of Albuquerque.
