No taxation without representation

No taxation without regular town hall meetings.

What would happen if we decided not to tax ourselves
even one more dime, to support any endeavor of our
government, which is not subject to accountability to us
by means of town hall meetings;

the opportunity to ask any legitimate question, and
to expect expect in response;

a candid, forthright and honest answer?

FYI` discussion at KOB

#1 So it says in the Journal that Schultz placed Guzman on leave for attacking the KOB reporter, Rick Foley. Foley is due in court today on his "failing to Obey an Officer" charge. Wonder if it will be dismissed?

A reliable source tells me Guzman was a transfer to APD from APS police. I'm not 100% sure, but I doubt Guzman even attended a police academy.

When Foley's criminal charges are dismissed, he should go straight to the FBI and file a civil rights violation against APD/Guzman! Then file a civil suit against the city.

I don't like the idea of my tax money paying for officers mistakes, but APD should be held accountable for this one. They need to hire and properly train qualified people, not just fill uniforms with substandard bullys.

Goodbye, Officer....I mean Daniel Guzman!

#2 Yeah he was an officer for APS before

My understanding is that;
APS officers are graduates of the same police academy as BCSO, APS, and the NMSP.
Don't confuse the actual officers, with the members of the APSPD who serve as campus security.

If they are carrying a gun; they are bona fide police officers who graduated from the same training.

I will bow of course, to any controverting fact.

Nicely put, ched, there are both certified cops and trained security officers who work for APS. The difference is the gun and the ability to arrest vis a vis their special deputy commissiions, issued by the Sheriff. Those can be pulled at any time, they have been in the past. That is why they support a statute amendment that will allow APS to certify and commission their own officers, without any ties to the Sheriff.

That question was already answered in the American Revolution.
Was that a trick question?
Long live Dio6!
