The terms of public service are the prerogative of the public. Fundamental among those terms; public servants are accountable to the public, and to meaningful standards of conduct and competence, at least for the eight measly hours a day that we have to "trust" them with the control over our power and our resources.

And no one has said what is happening with the contract negotiations this year. I have a feeling we'll be going back without one again.
And the ATF Union, sitting in their Airconditioned office saying "We won't get into this until it gets bad enough that we have to...."
Teachers are just too passive to lead, right Ellen! Well move over and let someone else lead. It may be past time to bring back NEA. Getting screwed regularly by APS is a given, but I will not stand for it from the union!
Yep, we sure are gettin' a bargain on our Union Dues. $26 every 2 weeks = $676 / year.
I'm now suggesting to people I know to drop their union dues and get "legal aid", which is only about $19.99 / month, and the lawyers w/ that program will write letters and document for you at no extra cost.
I had serious problems w/my school admin for months, and all I got from the ATF was a few eye rolls and a "let's see if things get better" speech.
That was an expensive wake-up call where I realized I was a big sucker on a stick to them to the tune of $600+ / yr!
Today I called the NEA (the other teacher's union) in santa Fe and asked if they would start representing us from Santa Fe, because as per agreements w/ the ATF union (here in ABQ), they cannot create an office here in ABQ.
Anybody not satisfied with the performance of the ATF, I encourage you to call the NEA office in Santa Fe and ask to be represented.
If anything else, if enough calls go there, maybe the local ATF Union will get off their ass and actually represent us when we need them!
