The terms of public service are the prerogative of the public. Fundamental among those terms; public servants are accountable to the public, and to meaningful standards of conduct and competence, at least for the eight measly hours a day that we have to "trust" them with the control over our power and our resources.

So awesome, a day where no body died in Albuquerque, no body lied, no body cried?
Nickleback has grown up spiritually, they used to be mad about the girlfriend leaving them, and thining about how screwed up their old man was "in one ear and out the other".
The huge shining souls in the world, the Mandelas and Buddhas, are out there. Do we see them? Those caught in hate and greed must have walked RIGHT past Buddha, past Christ. They just had to say "Dude, how do you DO that with the calmness in the face of chaos?" And they will tell us and teach us. Sans charge.
But we just keep walking. We don't have to - strive for a day when you lie not even once. Try not to think hateful thoughts or thoughts of revenge. Don't cry over spilt milk, don't use your energy on old, moldering horses you already beat to death long ago.
Live in the present and try to make the future better, sounds pretty simple.
