When the Council of the Great City Schools audited the administration of the APS in October 2003, they noted a problem with nepotism in the administration of the APS.
I was reminded of the issue by the op-ed Moises Venegas wrote. He and Nelinda Venegas are married.
What are the odds that a married couple would end up with very high paying jobs in the same organization if nepotism doesn't play?
I don't know enough about the administration of the APS to know about all of the nepotistic relationships, but I know of at least one other central office administrator who is the nephew of a former superintendent.
One thing that I do know for a fact; you will find no evidence that the leadership of the APS has even made any effort to investigate, document, or address the problem.
Which of course, is an even bigger problem.
