"It will take months before we make any decisions..."

District Attorney Kari Brandenburg, on her investigation into public corruption and criminal conspiracy in the leadership of the APS (police department). It is only after her "investigation" is completed, that she can be compelled under the NMIPRA to surrender the public records now being secreted by her office and APS.

The District Attorney has had the results of APS' internal audit of the APSPD since May. There is no need for her office to conduct any investigations as her office was charged only with examining two already completed investigations to determine if criminal charges should be filed.

Never the less, she writes; "It will take months more to complete the "investigation" because "...it is complex and we are working on many other things, too."

If it takes six months for the crack staff at the District Attorneys Office to even decide whether or not a crime has taken place; what are the odds that they will ever convict anyone (defended by Sam Bregman)? Why not just admit that the "investigation" is as complete as it will ever be, that no one in the leadership of the APS will ever be held accountable under the law, and release the public records to public knowledge?

Brandenburg still will not confirm or deny whether or not the leadership of the APS turned over the results of the private investigation (Robert Caswell Investigations) into the corruption and incompetence in the APS PD. (Note: I have been informed that the impartial investigation was not done by RCI, but by another, unknown to me, private investigation firm.)

Similarly, APS/Modrall will not confirm or deny that they have turned over what must be evidence of felony criminal misconduct by APS employees, to the DA's office.

Bernalillo County Sheriff Darren White also refuses to tell the truth about the criminal use of computers and data bases by APS employees doing illegal criminal background checks using BCSO computers on individuals including APS' Tom Savage's fiancee.

I smell a cover up.

The defendent was smart to get a lawyer, even though APS' bravado and sloppy accusations w/o proof is probably enough to at the least win a liable and slander suit. Now I realize why the public often thinks of educators as "idiots".. look at the leadership in education that spews half truths and performs mediocre at best. We can only pray this "parade/charade of idiots" will come to an ending soon so the rest of us can work in peace!
