Middle School Coolers on Fritz

According to an article in the Journal (sub req);

"Principal Cordoba Martinez said the evaporative coolers at Ernie Pyle have always been a problem at the start of the school year."

"It's been an ongoing issue for at least 12 years," she said.

During the same twelve year period no cooling problems have been reported at the Uptown Administrative Complex; the site of millions of dollars in unnecessary renovations.

you can go to almost every school in APS and the admin offices are cool as a cucumber in Summer, and confortably warm in the Winter. Then you go to the classrooms and the kids are sweltering under fans bought by the teachers with their own money, or the kids are in sweaters because it so cold in the class. When the heat or air breaks down in the admin offices, calls are made, and servicemen are expected to be there tHAT day. When a class heter/cooler malfunctions, we are told to "deal with it" until the Summer, when they can fix it (though it never does get fixed!).
