Remember when I suggested that maybe roofing contractors were paying for the administrative soirée at the Inn of the Mountain Gods?
According to an APS press release;
Allison Engineering, Inc. A Silver Sponsor; "will design the roof and parking lot improvements at La Cueva High School. The total estimated cost of the project is $5.5 million."

Outrageous! As someone in the trenches who can’t even get books or chalk, outrageous. Have you ever emailed Larry Barker about these issues? I personally stopped voting for and started actually voting against the mill levys. Having been in 4 new schools with leaking roofs, messed up heating and air conditioning, and of course the contractors were never, never, held accountable, I decided personally enough was enough. I have taught in 3 different states and never have I seen anything so corrupt.
Allison Engineering? Any relation to the last national search superintendent?
The whole roofing contract has been suspicious for years. Some of the high schools were told for 4 years that "this will be the year we get a new roof. Cover all your things before you go home for the summer". In our case, in year 4, the new roof came, but at the last minute (last week in May), the buildings were all switched around for roof repairs in a crazy, unnanounced way. Either a contractor doesn't know what it's doing, or the contractors are switched at the last minute? It was always very suspect to many of us.
Like all other federal and state agancies, shouldn't all the contracts offered for a local, state or federal contract project be disclosed to the public?.. and the reasons for choosing that contractor officially posted? That certainly would remove a lot of doubt and corription from the picture f that was mandatory, and there is no reason why it shouldn't be legally mandated!
