Monica is Mum

"mum's the word;"
say nothing of the secret you know.

APS' new Director of Communications Monica Armenta was asked to do a fact check on a post about APS vendors underwriting the administrative soirée at the Inn of the Mountain Gods.

She did not respond. Another email was sent, asking if it would be correct to report that she had refused to respond. Still no answer.

Are APS vendors contributing cash for the exclusive use of administrators who will later make decisions on the awarding of lucrative contracts to those same vendors?

Monica Armenta won't answer the question, and she does so with the blessing of the leadership of the APS. More than their blessing, they are paying her more than a hundred thousand dollars a year to spin the truth.

The truth is; there is more than the appearance of a conflict of interest; a violation of every stated policy of the APS.

The truth is; public servants are spending public money to cover up the squandering of public resources in the public schools; right under everyone's nose.

All of which begs the question that no one but me (apparently) will ask; not even the Journal or the Trib;

...W T F ? ??

To the author... I know form experience your frustration, and at times pain. It's not that we lower levels are not asking questions...we are. And when we try to find solutions, there are many "creative" ways for our superiors to shut us up quick. Suddenly some bad evaluations arrive, a transfer request "mysteriously" has the utmost importance, or you are reassigned to a place or position where your contact with other adults or parents is severly limited. When that is not plausable, their is the systamatic humiliations that make you wish you were as far from APS as possible. I said the other day... if they find a way to terminate me or fire me, then they will have a real demon on their hands. I will protest and print reports and submit a multitude of horrid violations. They suspect this, and they dangle my position and chip away at my credibility and professionalism, hoping to discourage. I think this is a common practice in the APS schools. Some are acting likw professional "thugs" to "squash any rebellion"...believe me, I know first hand!

What the preceding anonymous said is so true. There is so much corruption, not only in the business sense but everyway imaginable. M&O comes out, sits under the shelter of a tree, smoke their whatever, leave, and report the repairs made, until they are again called out, sit under trees, you see the pattern. I personally know of teachers out in the portables who have reported this behavior to M&O only to have a furious on site administrator tell them they need to mind their own business and keep their FYI's to themselves.
This is exactly the reason we all laughed when the city put gps monitoring system on the vehicles of City Park workers. Who ever was fired must have been picked up by APS. I can't tell you how many ignored letters to the editors have been written and ignored. Half the time the Union President is ignored and then published on the Union website. I wish I knew what the Journal and Trib have to gain by shielding APS. It may be time to start boycotting the News Media's sponsors and advertisers.
